This conversation we had informally with a waste worker close to the Babarpur Drain, gives us insight into how the humblest of discarded objects have economic value and if could at the house hold level segregate our waste, it would not only ease the drudgery associated with segregation for workers like this lady, but also increase livelihoods- of course lightening the load on our water bodies and landfills would be amazing for the environment as well.
