FLEX ACCORD - Introduction

The irresponsible disposal of PVC-based flex, used widely as outdoor and indoor media is an ongoing environmental disaster. Shifting the industry towards non-toxic materials through eco-alternatives to flex has been attempted but since these materials come with a very high price tag, their uptake remains challenging. There are many policies that regulate outdoor media displays, however none of them require environmentally responsible after-use disposal of Flex.

Solving the enormous issue of Flex disposal requires a consolidated approach that engages Policy makers, Design and Advertising industry, Tradeshow and Events industry, Outdoor Display Companies, Municipalities and Individual users.

The Flex Accord is the first holistic initiative to develop a sustainable post-use Flex supply-chain in India by linking all stakeholders in the flex-value chain to a single platform for solutions.

We developed the Revert Initiative as the first step in the long chain of events that need to follow to solve the Flex crisis.

The obvious short-term solution to Flex is to tranform all flex waste into usable objects that lengthen the lifecyle of the Flex. This will eliminate the toxic emissions that are currently associated with its irresponsible disposal. As we control the damage from existing flex, we aim to enable a longer term solution where Policy, Technology and Business stakeholders join hands to create a more formal environment for responsible flex use.

Join the Revert Flex Accord and contribute to a consolidated plan for action against irresponsible flex disposal.
